THE RIVER NITH SOCIETY

October, 2008

Our next event – the last for this year – is a very special one

Internationally known for her knowledge of and work with otters, Rosemary Green is giving an illustrated talk for us on these beautiful creatures describing their habits and habitats. It is, of course, of special interest to our Society because of the increased sightings recently in the Nith.

Rosemary helped carry out the first Scottish national otter survey in the late 1970s and subsequently worked with the Vincent Wildlife Trust to carry out otter research and conservation work including the first successful radio tracking study of Eurasian otters and she also helped set up the first otter rehabilitation project. She is a member of an international Otter Specialist Group and is a contributor to several international publications.

Venue & time: St. Andrew's Church Hall, Brooke St., Dumfries at 2.30pm on Tuesday October 14.

Come and bring your friends – everyone welcome. No entry charge.

Hope you agree that this is one you oughter not miss. Ouch, you can see that it's time for me to step down as your Chairwoman but I don't think my next step will be stand-up comedy. Seriously, though, this talk is going to be a memorable one. Look forward to seeing you there.

Maria Mosby
Chairwoman
